Richard Dorfmeister (Friday night) – One half of Kruder and Dorfmeister takes to the cave for an intimate night of low down sounds - Their mixes are usually flavored with sampler-processed vocals, deep bassline dub, trip-hop elements, bossa grooves and smoothly-shaped echoes to achieve a unique sound. Some of their better-known works include "High Noon," "Original Bedroom Rockers," and remixes of Madonna's "Nothing Really Matters," Depeche Mode's "Useless," Count Basic's "Speechless" and Roni Size's "Heroes". Many of their remixes are collected on the double album The K & D Sessionswhich is any any discerning music lovers collection

Saturday April 24th sees 2 International guests land at Punch ..

Headlining the main room is one of the DFA originals - Shit Robot cut his teeth as a DJ in NYC through the 90s and early 2000s alongside the likes of James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and Luke Jenner of The Rapture, curating renowned nights like Plant, which was dubbed the 'coolest and loudest bar in New York City' by Face magazine (10/02). It was at Plant Bar that Marcus and DFA’s James Murphy started their now infamous Shit Robot party, named after Murphy’s crap robot drawing.

Shit Robot productions have been featured on mixes from luminaries such as Radio Slave, Shir I Khan and Rub N Tug's Fabric compilation, while his cut "Simple Things (Work It Out)" is an ace offering of new-school disco that featured in many discerning critics' year end best of lists from '09 and was reworked by Todd Terje and Serge Santiago.

And in The Cave .. Riotous Rockers formed after a chance meeting on the dance floor of Fabric Room One in the summer of 2003. Unbeknown to Pete and Boggy they would both meet again in their home town of Nottingham a few months later to discover they shared a mutual love of all things Electro, Pop, Disco, and Rave.

The DJ partnership was truly formed when they were given the chance to play at Nottingham's most hedonistic night, Liars Club. Mixing up as many styles as they could lay their hands on, they complimented promoter Ricky Haleys inspired bookings (which over the years has seen the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Scissors Sisters, Bloc Party and The Klaxons play long before they became household names). Riotous Rockers soon became a regular fixture at the club.

In preparation of the Planet Turbo Tour, Tiga shared his thoughts on the project ...

Tell us about the Planet Turbo Tour. What can people expect?
1. I don’t have to tour alone. I think the audience really wants to see me have a good time up there. There’s nothing sadder in this world than unrequited fun. It can get lonely touring by yourself. You come offstage with the vitamin water sweats, looking for the right lady to rate tracks on a scale of 1 to 10 with. And there’s no one there for you. No one who really understands. Now there will be at least two people who understand.

2. It forces me to evolve as a DJ, which is a very beautiful thing for a crowd to witness. Digital. Analog. And back again? Count on it.
I’m like a shark: if I stop grooving, I’ll die.

3. We all get to hang out together, our loveable gang of huggable li’l misfits. I’m going to try to force everyone to dress like authentic street urchins (newsboy caps, burlap vests), to accentuate that special sense of boyish mischief. Every guest artist can play whatever they like, provided they stay after their sets and dance behind me as I DJ. You want to get paid, you get to the back of the conga line early and often.

4. We will be putting real effort into the production aspect and the visuals. People should expect a full night of magic and smiling and looking and sighing. Post-post-post-everything musical programming. I find that nothing excites the passions like the word “programming.”
I feel I should mention that the initial idea was to tour with the same audience for every show. Unfortunately, we found that we couldn’t ship them as cargo, so we’ll have to see who turns up in each city. I can’t wait!

How long did it take to put the tour together?
In terms of talent, Planet Turbo is a perfect storm. Like that movie where the fisherman invites his wife over for a big fish dinner and there’s a romantic storm outside and he puts on the Hi-Fi and the feeling’s so right and they make love for the remainder of the film. This tour will capture the feeling of that fisherman having his way with you.

What sets this tour apart?
For one thing, it’s the first tour I’ve made a point of constantly referring to as a “game-changer”. I think the main difference is that we are going to go for a full night of music that really fits together, and visuals that represent that. So, to use the ultimate cliché, it’s a journey. One on which I hope you will let us take you. We want to take the narrative approach of a 70-minute concert and merge it with the 12-hour feel of a warehouse party.

Is there a release plan around this? Can you tell us about it?
Yes. And no, I can’t tell you about it. We are collecting 10 bombbs (for discretion’s sake I prefer to never spell “bombs” correctly, lest I attract even more hot judgment from The Man’s tireless word-finding cyber-drones. Don’t say Billy Idol didn’t warn us), remixes by our extended family of our long time megahits. I will play them in my sets, and we will release them as we go along. I foresee a lot of people coming up and asking, “What IS this track?” And a lot of me shruggin’ and grinnin’. I’m gonna be so damn sheepish it’s crazy.
I want you to imagine the best possible combinations of remixers and tracks. Now imagine me laughing at your imagination. It hurts, doesn’t it? That’s because in your imaginary heart you know that you couldn’t be farther off in terms of quality and general excitement. At the end of the tour, the whole package, along with some new original tracks, will be released as an album. We will then attempt to sell that album.

When I first met him, he was dressed exactly like Peter Pan. He even had a cable harness strapped to him.

When and why did you start Turbo?
I started it in ‘98. I just wanted to work with artists and music and find a way to launder the money from my nightclub business. That’s just me joking around. You can’t launder counterfeit traveler’s cheques. Turbo has always been about putting out the best possible music. We don’t do vanity projects. For instance, we decided against putting out my rock album, “Dungaree Heart”, as well as my devotional project “Rhythm of the Jesuits”.

What else is coming up for Tiga and Turbo?
Albums by ZZT, Chromeo, PROXY and Sei A. A Tiga MixCD. The Turbo Apps store. My book. My poetry ranch. Turbo: The Movie. Turbo: The Kindle. My fragrance, “Irrepressible Person.”

If Turbo were a planet, what would it be like?
The soil would be so rich you wouldn’t even believe it. Say a kind word and a Trust Plant springs up from the earth. The sky would be the color of the most beautiful energy drink, and the animals would all have monthly DJ charts instead of being completely useless. And I would gaze down upon my creation, singing the wind through your hair. Also, there would be no prejudice.

DJ Hype is back for his annual visit to Dublin. The reason he keeps coming back is because he keeps rocking the crowd. Essentially he's an entertainer. He plays to the crowd and smashes it every time. Of course he plays fresh music but expect the odd classic to get thrown in. He started way back in the early 1990's with the "Shut up and Dance " sound system and went on to win some scratch competitions. All of these influences are evident in his DJ sets.

His Monthly "Tru-Playaz" night in Fabric is testament to his popularity. He headlines the consistently sold out monthly in one of the world's best clubs.

He's won best DJ on numerous occasions at too many awards to mention. Has released countless singles, mix compilations and has a weekly radio show on Kiss 100. The Jet Project was formed after a few back to back dj sets in Belfast led the guys to realise they both shared the same love of solid dance floor electronics. The next logical step was to take all their influences and experience as djs and producers and combine them in the studio. Their sound is very much en vogue right now, from deep and dubby tech house to thundering peak time techno, support for their material to date has come from Andrew Weatherall, Francois K, Laurent Garnier, John Digweed, Heidi & M.A.N.D.Y.

Timmy Stewart & John McIver followed up a series of killer EPs for Silicone Soul's Darkroom Dubs label with their "Heads In The Clouds" long player that secured them the album of the month slot in iDJ magazine this Summer. They've also put their deft remix touches to Scoper & Bubba, the Two Lone Swordsmen, Matt Playford, Silicone Soul, M.in, Android Cartel, Sian & Deepchild amongst others.

Their recent Black Arts EP on Steve Lawler's VIVa Music spawned the club smash Tooth N Bone which won them legions of new fans and the first four releases on their newly founded Extended Play imprint with Chris Duckenfield (Swag) has earned them even more props from heads as diverse as Dixon and Claude Von Stroke.

With their latest material signed by Berlin's mighty Get Physical stable & Paul Woolford's Detroit inspired Intimacy label and a host of killer remixes and singles set to drop in the coming months, not to mention their successful side projects as Yankee Zulu and Bubba & T-Bone, it's safe to say the Jet Project are cleared for take off.

Simian Mobile Disco have launched a new record label, Delicacies, which will release its first EP at the end of April.

All tracks on the new label will be named after bizarre culinary items from around the globe, such as "Aspic" and "Nerve Salad," both of which will be included on the imprint's first release. Delicacies is also the title of the duo's new club night, which kicked off at the end of February with an event at matter featuring Green Velvet, DJ Pierre, Joker and others, plus a DJ set by SMD themselves. The pair have also secured a quarterly residency at Fixed, a New York party that has featured Simian Mobile Disco numerous times since 2007.

To get the scoop on all of their new projects, we caught up with Jas Shaw via email earlier this month.

Tell me a bit about the concept behind the new label.

After finishing the last record we were both still full of ideas for tracks and wanted to spend more time in the studio doing more experimental stuff. Also, we have been DJing a lot and the last record was more of a home listening thing, not really the kind of stuff we play when we DJ. So it's really just an excuse for us to book time off touring to mess around in the studio. The idea of releasing the tracks quickly and with little promo or fuss was just to give us short deadlines to finish things. It's really nice to make a few tunes in the week and then play them out that weekend and then put them out straight away.

How will records on Delicacies differ from other music you’ve released so far?

Delicacies are usually quite disgusting things that are enjoyed by a small group of people. Lots of the music that we listen to fits this description and this label is a forum for us to put out some disgusting music for the few that like that sort of thing.

Will all Delicacies releases be by Simian Mobile Disco or can we expect other artists in the series?

Yeah, if things go well then we might well put some stuff out by other people. Let's not get ahead of ourselves though.

How have the Delicatessen parties been going so far?

Really well, the first one at matter was great. It was amazing to choose all the people involved, kind of like designing your perfect night out. We will definitely be doing some more of those.

How was your first resident night at Fixed?

Fixed was cool, we have been playing for Josh and Dave (who run Fixed) since day one. We used to stay at their flat whenever we went out there. The New York party we just had was definitely a work in progress, lots of the crowd were there for techno but there were also people there expecting us to play lots of our own stuff which we don't really do. Part of having a residency there is to get people into the idea that when we DJ it's not to play lots of SMD stuff—that's more for the live shows. We are playing lots of wonky techno and we have been road testing unfinished Delicacies stuff as well.

What else do you have in the pipeline at the moment?

The final bits of my new synth are arriving soon so we are looking forward to putting it through its paces.

Duke Dumont - FABRICLIVE 51

Born the son of a record dealer and raised in north-west London where pirate radio ruled the airwaves during the late 90s, it was near-inevitable that a teenage Adam Dyment would eventually find himself in front of a pair of Technics 1210s. This was a time of swapping vinyl and mixtapes - a time bridge, really - before broadband internet and mass illegal downloads, but during the early stages of computer software becoming an option for beat making. And this was the era of Adam’s grounding in music; DJing was the in-thing, and was simultaneously the genesis for accessible music production software.

“Everybody in the neighbourhood, of my age, was a DJ. Everyone used to make mixtapes, swap records, but I seemed to be the only one who kept on doing it, and the passion never burned out. The reason is I caught the production bug. My introduction was a copy of ‘Music 2000’ on the Playstation when I was about 16. With ‘Music 2000’ you used to be able to sample CDs - you could just put a CD into a Playstation, sample ten seconds of music, cut up drums, and just start making music. Sure, it was on my TV speakers, and bounced onto a minidisk player, but it was my introduction, an outlet, and everything followed from there. Perhaps the snobs might turn their noses up at that, but in a practical sense, it was no different to starting out on an Akai sampler.” – The Duke Dumont

Music production became an all-consuming passion and, after winning the Diesel U Music award for the country’s best unsigned producer, he was afforded two huge opportunities: being signed to a DJ agency (a move that allowed him to quit his day job and focus full-time on music), and being given the opportunity to remix a track by Mekon featuring Roxanne Shante. His stock has been rapidly rising ever since; for the next few years, his ability to transform indie tracks into his own, made him the go-to remixer for the likes of Mystery Jets, Late of the Pier and Bat For Lashes. However, his production has broadened in scope with remarkable force, and with his debut artist album in the works this year, he is determined not to be held ransom by musical-cliques.

“My whole philosophy is: don’t just jump in with the latest genre. If you’re wearing a badge of a particular dance music brand you can make a lot of money very quickly, but begin to loathe what you love - the really good stuff comes from the heart and the soul, without any external pressures, and letting your imagination take precedence. Essentially I cannot bring myself to stick to a genre, or BPM. Making music, and listening to music must be an all consuming pleasure, and never a chore.” – The Duke Dumont

A short chat with The Duke Dumont on this topic is revealing – conversation can swing from discussing the qualities of Madlib one minute to extolling the virtues of 2-step garage another to enthusing about live shows by The Field or Apparat the next. It’s clear his wide musical proclivities are not an attempt at eclecticism, nor a plea to be a part of the current zeitgeist for genre blurring. They’re simply a result of a deep-seated passion for music, for production and for that dying artform in a 21st Century world of music saturation: discovery.

The Duke Dumont’s burning appetite for good music, first and foremost, is conveyed through a rather surprising collection of sonic treasures on his FABRICLIVE 51 mix. Stripped down to a slim-line 13 tracks, it is utterly free from gimmicks, from nods to tastemakers or from big names. Instead, it rightfully focuses on allowing all 13 tracks space to express themselves and take the listener on an inspiring journey, at once cerebral and emotional, heartfelt and precise. Taking in the acid-tinged techno of Saturn V on Spectral Sound, the Berghain warehouse throb of Scuba, the melodic lilt of Bodycode, the deep 2-step swing of Floating Points and the epic swell of Idioma’s closer, it’s a mix that takes listeners right back to the centre of Room Two’s pitch black 4am dancefloor.

“I’m not trying to promote a genre with this mix, the ethos is simply to make something that I’ll still really love in a few years’ time. It’s all good music. The mix is hypnotic, with structure and atmosphere – it represents what I play: groove-based, bordering on the techy side and all with a sense of emotion, which a venue like fabric allows me to express.” – The Duke Dumont

This Saturday we’ve got something really special lined up .First off for your warm up we are doing the first ever live broadcast of Transmit on SPIN 1038 lfrom 8.45 with our special guest Nima Tahmasebi (NT89) making his Irish Debut. http://www.myspace.com/impetusss

The man from L'Aquila, Italy has been whipping up and electro storm in Europe. Not only productions, his live shows are really powerful & eclectic, he loves to switch genres between techno, house, funk, disco & electro. He has already played on the stage with the likes of Tiga, Shinichi Osawa, Congorock & His Majesty Andre.

NT89 is widely considered as the new upcoming Italian producer together with Cécile, he is one man with a hefty slew of bangin' remixes, intense, pulsing original tracks and one hell of a lot of style.

In October 2009 he signed to Fatboy Slim's label Southern Fried Records, Recently he made an official remix for Turbo recordings of Noob & Brodinski hit ‘Peanuts Club’ as an iTunes exclusive & released an original track on Sony BMG's project italo school which includes artists like Crookers and Blatta & Inesha.

As The Bloody Beetroots studio assistant he collaborated on the realization of the "Smash your Stereo" cd on One Love / Sony australia. NT89's tracks have already been supported & played by the likes of Tiga, Erol Alkan, Zombie Nation, The Bloody Beetroots, Congorock, Shinichi Osawa, Arveene (just to name a few) and released several highly esteemed remixes & original tracks. His popular remixes of ZZT "The Worm", Zombie Nation "Worth It" and Tiga's "Mind Dimension" killed the dancefloors everywhere & captured the attention of Tiga who decided to put the Mind Dimension remix in his brand new album "Ciao!" in the japanese edition CD on Pias/Sony music.

This is the first time ColorTv and Punch have collaborated and we're delighted to do so! Get down early for this one as we expect the place to be rammed!

Bart B More's highly anticipated release "Romane" finally drops today on Sound Pellegrino, which is now 1 year old, may the success continue. Some massive releases.

Romane is an instant crowd pleaser which relies on three simple ingredients: an unforgettable riff, a sick beat, and one of the most seriously earth shattering, body shaking, mind motivating alarm siren that just screams “get up and dance, young hero, it’s time to save the world”. Remixing the aforementioned triple threat could have proven tricky, so we carefully assembled a dream list of producers that could take up the challenge, and the magic happened. Truly one of the most perfect remix packages created since the invention of the wheel.

Parisian wonders, Youngunz alumni and overall little rascals French Fries and Bambounou chop up the melody, give it a friendly noogie and then proceed to take it with them to an afterparty in San Francisco curated by the Martin Brothers and a dude wearing a giant bacon strip costume. Sexy, classy, efficient and fun.

Up and coming Dutch producer Rubix takes the essence of the track and beautifully turns it into a crazy giant mariachi fiesta that litterally explodes in your ear. Seriously, I don’t know if the guy hired a complete latino horn section to come play this insane melody in his studio but the result is awesome beyond belief. This totally sounds like the house version of Delinquent Habits’ “Tres Delinquentes”.

Gucci Vump, the infamous top secret duo made up of Brodinski and Guillaume from The Shoes, deliver their first remix since their stellar Sha! Shtil! EP on Sound Pellegrino last fall. Focusing their energies on the siren, just the siren and only the siren, they bring it to a legendary level of ravy fierce funky house next levelness.

Boris' latest production Bangkok has been one of the biggest records of the last 6 months, and was a stable in the sets of Erol Alkan, Boys Noize and Tiga. Almost 20 years as a producer and global Dj, Boris is one of Germany's most well known and respected Dj's.

Erol Loved Bangkok so much he signed it to Phantasy and the rest is history...

Deadbots are Dublin born Paul Kelly,and Vancouver born Nina Knezevic. They have cultivated a curious interest on the electro scene. Pulling influence from 80's synth pop, rock, disco, hip hop and techno. With a plethora of remixes both completed and upcoming for the likes of Hystereo, FCKN CREW, Arthur Baker, The Japanese Popstars, Humanzi, Meneo and OH SHIT, Ikki, and last years Deadbots’ track Watch Yo Back going to Number 1 on the Beatport Electro charts, the release of their 2nd EP featuring 36 Days & Someboday on New York’s OMG Recordings!With remixes by Hystereo & Heartache, and the upcoming release of thier 3rd E.P. featuring Much Better coming out soon on Satans Circus U.K. with remxies by SymbolOne/JackDied (Gooseflesh)/Hystereo/Arveene&Misk/ Fckn Crew they’re kept busy. Monochrome - more boy meets girl action, this time Dublin and London collide. Together the duo play the finest 80's, 90's hip hop and electro, while occasionally filtering in some modern beats. The Monochrome message is simple: they are here to remind people that the floor is for dancing on, ya see, hence being called the dance floor. Monochrome are made up of talented Irish design artist/DJ Jamie Delaney and London songstress/MC from Black Cherry – Miss Megane Quashie – hardest working soul girl in the UK, “this style is identical to none” (Eric B and Rakim)

Punch! Began in November of last year and has gone from strength to strength ever since: bringing quality house, techno and electro back to the venue that was previously Radio City. Residents Niall Dunne, JoshJoshJosh, Arveene and Colin Perkins take control of the music offering an alternative to stale overpriced Saturday nights in Dublin, cheap booze, great music and the lowest door prices in town even for guests.

Punch! Really is a breath of fresh air for the Dublin scene and has a host of International guests on the horizon.

On the 18th of January , Tiga released a series of remix 12"s for "Sex O'Clock", "Overtime", "Gentle Giant" and "Love Don't Dance Here Anymore", songs from his 2009 album Ciao! The ambitious project features some of the most respected and sought-after producers in dance music. "For these remixes, I looked to Titans. Standing on the roof of my greenhouse, I called out, 'Hey you, get off of that impossible cloud and into my car. We're gonna drive all night 'til we hit Remix City ! '" "I asked them, 'When can you have the remixes ready by?' They said, 'About a month from now.' I said, 'Time. That's precisely what the song is about. Use that.'" Stopmaking me is a little trouble maker, he was in Bournemouth doing his thing as a very young Dj supporting the likes of Uffie & MSTRKRFT then he came up to London with talk of his love for clubs like Trash and Optimo, he wasn't just a scenester with an ear for a hot tune, when you heard him Dj he somehow managed to play a massive house record next to a Talking Heads record next to Techno and a Pop tune and it all sounded amazing. This vast musical knowledge worked the crowd into a frenzy and gained him a residency at London institution Fabric. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for sticking it to the man. Damn the man, save the empire and all that (if you don't get that reference, stop reading, click the link, buy the movie, watch the movie, love the movie...) but none of us really really believe that downloading a track from itunes is a genuine revolutionary act. Right? Good, now that we are all agreed I can proceed.

So there has been no revolution this Christmas (damn you Santa, I only asked for ONE thing) but at least we were saved from another X-factor number one. Yeah yeah, I know that RATM are signed to Epic and Epic are owned by McDonalds or Starbucks or some shite and I haven't listened to the charts in nine years so what's it to me? Well here's the thing, I'm happy that people who were pissed off with the status quo got off their asses and attempted some sort of collective action. Sure the execution was flawed and really they should have picked some obscure band who record their songs in a studio built from organic no-brand tofu and who donate all their profits and organs to neglected children. But hey it's an imperfect world and mostly I think any attempt these days by people to be heard by the 'establishment' or the government or even their mates, is worthy of at least a pat on the back. More of this please folks.

And then there's our homegrown fellas Arveene and Misk who bootlegged the hell out of "Killing in the Name"' back in 2006. So get this, bootlegging has a long 'revolutionary' history and RATM are 'revolutionaries' so that's like some sort of black hole of revolution. Wahey. And the track is ace too. Get your fill of revolution² here. The very same duo have a remix out today for dance-floor impresario Felix da Housecat. Like the cat who got the cream (of the crop), I'm guessing Felix is dead happy with this stormer.

NT89 & Savile’s debut EP “In Bocca Al Lupo” is a lesson in nervous energy.
Jittery tribal drums roll over hi hats that slink in and out of view. A bassline stumbles in, winding up slowly amongst the syncopation. Then, a break. A deep breath… before we’re sucked in again, this time with a scream that’s warped and detuned until the track finally hisses in defeat.
This is side A, “Plug,” already receiving support from the legendary Zombie Nation.

“Comb” is condensed chaos. Occupying a space between Berlin’s polished textures and Detroit’s “Fuck-em-all” irreverence. Savile’s pitch-shifted voice whispers muddled phrases over sub bass and snaps. A squelched arpeggio rises and falls. A dense layer of shakers is flanged left and right as the mummers slowly become clear. NT89 & Savile leave us with a looped refrain of “comb my hair and step out the door.” An oddly docile end to such a wicked affair.

Having made his name as one of the most prominent figures on the music scene of his native Ireland during the 90’s, his career really began to take shape when he moved to New York in 2001. Youth Attack Hit Punch!

These week at SuperPunch! we will be bringing our first international guest into our humble abode for the night, Youth Attack! aka Leeds based DJ/Producing Duo Lee Dunn & Chris Petty, first came bursting onto the scene with their remix of the Shadow Dancer track 'Daytime Drinking', and have since then produced a solid collection of equally loud, dancefloor destroying remixes for the likes of Foals, Late Of The Pier, The Ting Tings and young french upstarts Art Whiplash. Its hard to believe that they only formed at the beginning of 2008, and in the space of a year have become the Electro underground scene's new ones to watch.

The lads have als ogiven us one of their massive remixes.

4 Hours Of Smagghe

Back in August, one of my favourite DJ's of recent times Ivan Smagghe, had been invited to close the first edition of Resonance Festival which had taken place over the weekend on several landmarks of Avignon’s medieval city center. So he stepped in on the famous half-collapsed Avignon old bridge and played an extended set which probably wouldn’t fit in a 4am sweaty disco room but, according to all reports, just drove people insane on a red hot sunday afternoon.
No tracklist on this one but amongst the epic 2 and a half hours he clocks up here are the likes of Weatheralls 'Doves' remix, and some tracks from WhoMadeWho, Chilled By Nature, Hector, Robert Hood, Roman Flugal and Walter Jones. Outstanding stuff. Low on BPM but high on substance.

This week at Punch! we are bringing down our first of many guests to come, Acii Disco's Al Keegan, who is also the head honcho of hot record label Aciitone Digital which is home to Sourcecode, Matador and more. Expect banging techno till late for our first date in December.

Al started DJing at the young age of 14 and like many Djs his style and taste in music has evolved over time. He began playing tech trance and harder edge sounds on pirate radio stations in Dublin, he hosted a show on kiss fm for more than 2 years and has since went on to play in some of Dublin's most respected venues. He ran the infamous Acii Disco in what was then The Hub and Traffic,which is now Twisted Pepper. Also on his promoting CV are the day long events in McGrudders, and recently he put on an event similar in The East Point Venue called YES Festival.

Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs to Meet Henry, Strict Measures to be Taken

Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin has in an unprecedented move asked the French striker and Irish heartbreaker Thierry Henry to meet with him privately to discuss the infamous handball. Not the News Ireland has learnt the Minister has been working hard at gaining entry into the changing room of the French team. When asked what exactly would he say to the man that ended Ireland’s world cup dreams he was stern and succinct: “The initial plan after talking to Brian [Cowen] was obviously was to kill Mr. Henry using one of the Taoiseach’s three secret assassinations. However, after a few calls were made to the Dept. Of Defence we realised that’s a privilege reserved only for President Obama, would have been a bit of a political faux pas really.”

In what can only be called decisive yet controversial measures an emergency cabinet meeting has taken place at Leinster House. A press conference held on the steps of government revealed the actions to be taken by the Government in the aftermath of a devastating evening. “We suggest a call to patriotic action by all citizens of Ireland to avoid eating cheese, garlic and other French products associated with the despicable Nation of France” said the Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan as his voice quivered and he broke down in tears, Minister for Education Batt O’Keeffe took over. “It would be foolish of us to allow our children to be corrupted by these French men with their dishonesty and lack of integrity. Therefore, the government has been left with little option but to ban the teaching of French in all schools throughout the nation”. Initial indications of Ireland declaring war on Thierry Henry have been dismissed by Minister for Defence Willie O’Dea as foolish. “Don’t be silly you declare war on a person, that’s ridiculous: we do however, expect our troop to secure Paris by the morning”.

It is widely expected that in the next few days leading supermarkets will clear their shelves of all Gilette products endorsed by Mr. Henry. Bearded men walking the street will be a common sight well past the days of ‘Movember’. Renault Ireland has also indicated they will no longer sell the Megane featured in a previous advertisement with Henry.

In other less important news the French Embassy in Dublin has been burnt down and its’ occupants killed.
